Butchery Manager – BM-001

An established retail business is looking for an experienced Butchery Manager to take ownership of the daily operations of its butchery department.
This role is suited to someone who understands the pace, standards and discipline required in a retail butchery environment, from product quality and stock control to customer service, staff supervision and food safety compliance.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing department performance, maintaining high hygiene standards, supporting staff, controlling stock and ensuring customers receive quality meat products and professional service.
Key Requirements
Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent
Butchery or meat processing qualification will be advantageous, but not essential
5–8 years’ experience in a retail butchery environment
Previous supervisory or management experience
  • Strong knowledge of meat cuts and butchery techniques
  • Good stock control and inventory management skills
  • Strong leadership and people management ability
  • Customer-focused with strong attention to quality and detail
Willing to work in a refrigerated environment, stand for extended periods, handle raw meat and work weekends/public holidays when required
Salary: Based on qualification and experience.
